Central Peebinga Line

The Central Peebinga Line association was formed in 1928 with Marama, Nelsonville and Kulkami as the founding clubs. Kulkami and Nelsonville played the opening game in 1928 with Kulkami easy victors 6-3 to 1-7. Nelsonville would become Mulpata in 1929 due to the South Australian Railways changing the names of railway sidings with similar sounding names to other sidings in the state.

Central Peebinga Line played their first inter association match in 1928 when they took on the Peebinga Kingsford association at Kringin. The match was described as being fairly rough at times with Central Peebinga going down narrowly 9 goals, 10 behinds to Peebinga Kingsford 9 goals, 13 behinds.

W Ninnes, F Godfrey and H Stevens were named best players for Central Peebinga with W Ninnes kicking 4 goals for the losers. Mr F C Tee umpired the game and from all accounts gave a fair and impartial display. These matches became an annual event with victories shared evenly between the two associations.

Marama won their fourth premiership in a row in 1931 only losing one match during the season, they were awarded the Sheriff Shield. Officials elected to the Central Peebinga Line Football Association in 1933 were President – Mr L Hosking, Secretary – Mr E J Mickan, Delegates – J Papps, F Probert, H Lang, C Ahrns, R S Francis and C Went.
