Eyre Peninsula zone, 1946 to 1956

Formation

With the soldiers returning home from the war, the population of the district began to grow. New club United formed in 1946 taking players from the Murdinga, Tooligie and Palkagee area. The formation of the new team affected the Lock team directly to the North and boundaries were set to make recruitment of players fair for both teams. This seems to have been achieved as Lock and United won the first two premierships after WWII.
