The Fleurieu Football Association was founded in 1934. Yankalilla had applied to join the Great Southern Football Association in 1934 however the four member clubs unanimously opposed their entry. Yankalilla then canvassed the Myponga and Mount Compass clubs to attain their interest in forming an association. A newly formed club in Second Valley also expressed interest in joining and were accepted as the fourth club.
The Fleurieu association had a competitive first season apart from Second Valley falling off the pace early. The premiership race was a battle right to the end for the other three clubs with Yankalilla eventually successful. A Woods (Myponga) with 33 votes won the medal for the best & fairest player, Stan Patfull (Mount Compass) 19 runner up and Colin Kelly (Yankalilla) 16 third. A Woods was also the leading goalkicker for the season with Colin Kelly runner up.
The Fleurieu association only survived for one season with Yankalilla and Mount Compass moving to Great Southern. Myponga returned to Southern and Second Valley folded, their remaining players joining Yankalilla.
