The Midland Downs Football Association was formed in 1930 with the founding members being Tintinara, Yumali, Ki Ki and Coonalpyn. A medal were presented at the end of the season to C Bartlett of Ki Ki and Wally Hillman of Yumali who tied as the best and fairest players in the association.
The association became known as the Border Downs association in 1932 when Netherton and Coomandook joined the competition. Owing to heavy rain a match between Yumali and Coomandook was abandoned, the oval was waterlogged following 283 points of rain in two days.
