Mount Lock

Northern zone, 1921 to 1933

Formation

The Mount Lock Football Association was formed in 1921 when the Caltowie club invited nearby clubs Mannanarie, Tarcowie and Canowie Belt to form an association. Throughout its thirteen year history, the Mount Lock association never fielded any more than five teams but it was a relatively stable association.

The appearance of the Jamestown B grade team during the early 1920s would give the impression that the competition was of inferior quality. Maybe it was at that time but the association grew in strength in its later years and proof of this was a 27 point victory in a 1933 match against the Flinders association at Pekina.
