The North Gambier association was formed in 1931 by the Compton, Glenburnie, Mil Lel and Suttontown clubs.
Stan Cameron passed away after succumbing to injuries sustained two days earlier in the 1934 preliminary final between Mil Lel and Glenburnie. Stan was a former captain of Mil Lel and North Gambier, and despite his 43 years was a fit and valuable player for his team. His sons Percy and Lindsay also played in the match for Mil Lel.
Owing to the death of Stan Cameron, the staging of the 1934 North Gambier grand final between Compton and Mil Lel was postponed indefinitely. It would seem that the final was never played and Mil Lel disbanded the next season without playing another game.
