Rudall District

Rudall District

Eyre Peninsula zone, 1935 to 1940

Formation

The Rudall District Football Association was formed in 1935 with Alsbra Park, Rudall, Yadnarie and Kilroo as the member clubs. All four clubs had broken away from the Cleve association to form their own competition.

Mid season in 1940 the Rudall & District Football Association made the decision to decrease playing numbers on the field to 16 men per team due to rising enlistments.

Darke’s Peak champion Len Kohler won the 1938 Elliott medal as best and fairest player in Rudall and District. Ray Mellor of Lock was runner up, two votes behind and a further vote to Reg Brandon of Rudall in third place.
