1954-1978
Sadly, the Ngallo Football Club was forced to disband following the 2000 season after losing the first semi final to eventual premier Lameroo. One of their most respected players during their existence was Kelvyn Moyle. He played 402 games, which at the time of his retirement was a club record.
Kel began his senior career with Ngallo in 1954 and from very early on played the role of ruckman, a position he would hold throughout his career. In 1964, Kel was appointed captain coach which saw him produce his best form to lead his team by example. Kel was placed in the top three for the Mail medal in each of the years that he coached. Kel never won a Mail Medal but he finished runner up in 1958, 1966 and 1972 and was third in 1959, 1961, 1964, 1965 and 1969. Testament to him holding his form throughout his long career.
During his career Kel only missed four matches in his 402 game career, which included more than 30 finals matches and numerous inter association games. He won three best and fairest awards in 1961, 1962 and 1966 and played in six Ngallo premiership teams.
Despite all of the premierships, it was Kel’s proudest day in football when he ran onto the ground for a match in 1978 with his son Anthony as a teammate. It was then a perfect end to Kel’s playing career when he played his final match for Ngallo in the 1978 grand final with Anthony as one of his premiership teammates.
Kel took on the position of club secretary in 1971 and continued in the job until 1983. He was awarded Ngallo life membership in 1979. Kel was a Ngallo delegate to the Lameroo & District Football League from 1969 until 1993 and was a league selector for many years during that period. He was presented a life membership of the Lameroo & District Football League on the 29th May 1990 in recognition of services rendered to the League from 1969-1990.
Sadly Kel passed away in 1993 two days prior to a Ngallo premiership reunion. The reunion went ahead as a tribute to his contribution to the club.
